Hello there,
------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to the new CHRISSYTOPIA TIMES!!

It is absolutely unbelievable that last year at this time I was with my brother watching the solar eclipse in Tennessee trying to live a normal life in the midst of receiving weekly chemotherapy. Last summer I was getting daily shots, wearing scarves to cover my bald head, planning life around my next doctors appointments, feeling weak and ultimately depressed at the whole situation... not surprisingly. And this past weekend, literally one year later, I had performed 4 back-to-back shows, including a performance as a guest vocalist with The Algebra Mothers (https://thirdmanstore.com/a-moms-algebra-mothers-black-vinyl) at Third Man Records in Detroit, Mi!!! Unbelievable.
It's not like I didn't have the energy before, so it's not totally surprising.. heck I used to work back-to- back doubles while waiting tables...and I've always been a proponent of living life to the fullest.. you gotta know that by now... but there is a difference between then and now..I think one of those differences include how I see my life BC and AC ( C= Cancer). Lately all of my choices have been a result of consistent planning and research (aka homework), timing, and giving myself to the universe. I'm simply doing my part to maintain focus and when something isn't working, I've learned to release my grip and allow for what happens to happen, and you know what.... it's working. I see the light!! I bet you can too. What is something you need in life? Fresh air, family time, career change? You'll get it if ya want it. Try it yourself. Assign yourself some homework.
So.... part of putting that homework into good use include new professional pics (coming soon), updated website info, and the switch, booking more gigs and the switch from "The Chrissy Morgan Newsletter" to "Chrissytopia Times"!
Tell me how you're doin, it's been a while.

Movin on up,

** Chrissy Morgan

This past weekend I had the honor to perform for the children represented through Melissa Park's foundation, Art and Soul. Her events are open house art exhibits in which the main topic of discussion is helping children find foster homes. My heart was melted many times throughout the event and I plan on helping her raise awareness at future gatherings. Click the link to learn more about the next scheduled event. It may be too difficult to add another member to your family, but you can help by adding to the discussion. Let's speak for those who feel they don't have a voice.

Aretha Franklin, THE VOICE of our time has passed on to finer pastures We are so lucky to have had such a vocal genius exist within our times. Of course, we have all tried to sing like she does, even in jest (R-E-S-P-E-C-T), but noone can quite recreate the sounds that rang through those vocal cords. That's what makes her an original. That voice could emote joy as well as pain to the utmost degrees and bring you right alongside. That's more then technique and skill, that's passion! Radio DJ, Ann Delisi, from public radio's 101.9 FM has played the "Live From Fillmore West" album multiple times and I recently found the live concert footage from that event on the ol YouTubes. It's worth watching just to see and hear Aretha in her prime, but that band?!?!... and then Ray Charles joins in at the end!?!? OOOOOOWEEE!!!! I feel the spirit!
