In the acting world, things can change. I was booked as a CSI tech, and patiently waited to be filmed, but the scene got cut and they sent me home. Luckily I was brought in on a separate day to work as a police officer. And while the overnight shoot was hot and exhausting, I was able to watch a choreographed fight scene being filmed and that was awesome!!

I joined as a background actress for a @sunrisekidsky commercial. Before this taping, I wasn't aware of the traumatic experience that each child goes through before they go under state care. The process includes asking if anyone is speaking on behalf of the child and most times there isn't anyone there. Quite moving.

East LA retro music with flawless vocals reaching the angels themselves! Yes please. We went back to Cincy to the @woodwardtheater for The Sinseerly Yours Tour featuring @thealtons and @theesinseers . Best part.. meeting up with the newly wedded Boldens ( @philipbolden ) who drove down to meet us.

There are many days in Kentucky when I really miss the Detroit music scene and wouldn't you know, Don Was brought the party to me... Well to Cincinnati at the @memorialhallotr ... With front row seats it felt like home. When the best of the best come together it's more than music, it's deeper....quite literally soul full! Cudos to Don Was and the Pan-Detroit Ensemble. This concert is only the beginning of a tour that I just know is going to rock the world...
And... Well . cudos to me as I #namelift ( as @esperanzaspalding calls it) . I wouldn't have fully known the depth of the talent from this band and it's members if I hadn't actually worked alongside many of them in the past.

While I miss those days, I'm grateful for my education with some of the best that Detroit has to offer.

I went to a #songwriter 's showcase in Cynthiana hosted by @trishtorline . What a lovely evening with some amazing lyricists. I love getting to know the musical stories from this region. My favorite part of the event was filling out the #encouragement card . These cards were on each table and were suggested to fill out and add to the tip bucket. I LOVE this idea and could only hope that this tradition continues at other open mic nights, artist showcases and more. What a lovely way to share the connection between artist and audience. I feel that the words from these cards are just as valuable as the tips themselves.... tips are always appreciated.

I found out that the lil town of Cynthiana has its own #radiostation called #wcyn and I was asked to give an interview. It was so much fun. I felt a bit like a fish out of water with the listening audience call-in questions...not as much Seger trivia as a former Michigander I guess, but happy to share my music to a new audience

Back to @caffevivace ...this time to see @iamalexcuba ... I first heard Alex through #CBCradio2 after he won the Juno and fell in love with his smooth vocals ever since. Didn't really think I would get the chance to see him perform live, let alone in a 50 seat venue.

I went to the premiere of @ethanhawke 's movie, #Wildcat There were hundreds of extras and I felt so lucky to be a part of a major scene whether or not I would be featured because it was so fun to watch Ethan direct his daughter Maya. Turns out, my big ol head is front and center adding a couple more #secondsoffame .. The after movie interview was pretty fun too... Hollywood loves to hang out in Kentucky.

#NationalPublicRadio has to be my first resource for new music and thankfully they introduced me to @hermanosgutierrez . What dreamy music. As soon as I found out that they were performing in Lexington, we got tickets. They performed at the @lexoperahouse which was built in 1887 and can hold 1000 people.. and I could not imagine a more perfect venue. It felt so intimate and the sound and energy was hot that night Go see this band perform live... These two brothers brought so much to what they created..with their close connection , it was hard to figure out who was lead and who was rhythm... And sometimes they switch mid song. Amazing!!
