Hello there,
------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to CHRISSYTOPIA TIMES!!

In 1990 Jessica Tandy, 81, had become the oldest actress to win an Academy Award for her role in the film Driving Miss Daisy. Though I was just becoming a teenager at that time, for some reason her winning had made such an impact on my life. I like to bring up, The Jessica Tandy Principle, to explain the idea of how much time it can sometimes take to have recognition in the entertainment industry. Though she had a prominent theatre profession and had dabbled in the movie world, the general public...well me...had no idea of her talents until she had won that award. The principle is one I use to keep a sense of hope whenever I'm questioning career choices. The funny thing is, at that time it amazed me how old she was when she won her award... but doing a little research on her career while typing today, I find out that she won a Tony in her 40's....and well ...the principle still works for me! Which leads me to this fabulous fall and the lovely opportunities it has
brought.
If you haven't heard already, I'm performing two one hour performances at Willis Show Bar. And though you've seen me perform before, you haven't seen me with a full band, separated onto 2 stages, with guest performances, original songs, a DJ, a co- sponsor, and all the rest of that fun and glamour all rolled up into one show. GET YOUR RESERVATIONS!! (LINK (https://resy.com/cities/det/willis-show-bar) ) I am geeked!!! And the hits keep coming... I recently performed at The Whitney (Detroit's Most Iconic Mansion), I'm regularly booking The London Chop House, and I'm heading into the studio to record my first solo EP!!! More info next edition. Though I'v been, and continue to be Detroit's Backup Vocalist, I'm really enjoying the process becoming the solo artist I have been inching my way towards. And though I'm older, I'm certainly more confident, business saavy, and motivated than I ever was or could hope be 20 years ago. The JT principle keeps me goin...
Tell me how you're doin, it's been a while.

Movin on up,

** Chrissy Morgan

If you know Chrissy Morgan, you know that I love my shelter pets, I drive a Prius V, and every radio station preset in my car is either Canadian, college, or public radio. Yes I am one of those tree hugging public radio nerds with the T-shirt to prove it. My go-to, even during pledge week, has to be WDET 101.9FM. Between the midday, Culture Shift, and the weekend, Essential Music, and all the rest, I'm hooked. I really do find new music during their programming more than other stations, and what's better is a lot of that music is locally made. I highly suggest that you donate to this gem of a radio station. AND... if I haven't convinced you... consider A. During Noel Night 3 years ago, the station was giving away CD's not in rotation to those who stopped by the station... my arms were full. B. Yes it's fun to have WDET merch, but what's more fun is getting a FREE Mudgie's gift card cuz I won a contest during their last pledge drive. C. It was during Culture Shift that I found
out about $5 tickets to see Jack White at Little Ceasar's Arena. Simply said, you put in, you get back!!!

I'm not sure if you're on Spotify, but I've been using it for some time now. It's pretty helpful while giving vocal lessons or for learning new songs. My fav use has to be CHRISSY MORGAN RADIO. 100% chance this playlist will be playing on any roadtrip. I am by no means a DJ, but if you're curious as to what music I have been listening to lately or are influenced by, you can follow my playlist. WARNING, my tastes are all over the place, but I'm positive that you'll find something new that you haven't heard before.
